Hi Everyone,
Thank you in advance for any input, feedback, suggestions, etc.
I applied for a Tier 4 visa and a dependent visa in July. My son’s application included the following documents:
1. His US passport
2. His state issued birth certificate
3. His father’s state issued death certificate
4. Parent consent (enclosing the birth and death certificates)
On August 8, i received my visa. However, on the same day, I got an email from the Decision Center stating that my son’s application couldn’t be completed and I should send the following ‘additional documents’:
Letter of consent from your parent
A letter of consent that confirms:
the relationship between you and your parent
consent from your parent to the application
consent from your parent to the living arrangements in the United Kingdom and the address where you will be staying
Your parent must sign the letter
The birth certificate for [son]
The death certificate for [son’s father]
Based on the request, it seems the original parent consent was missing my consent to apply for my son’s visa, consent to the living arrangements and address in the UK where we will be staying.
On the same day, I sent all 3 documents (revised parent consent, copy of birth certificate and copy of death certificate) to the email address as instructed within the 10 day limit.
As of today, August 27, a decision has not been made and I’m very worried.
I don’t know what could possibly delay the decision.
Note:
1. I applied from USA
2. I applied for priority visa
3. The initial application has the original death certificate because once you scan the certificate, the word “void” watermark appears. I did this to avoid questioning the validity of the document. I have other original copies on file.
4. I have my own visa.
Any thoughts on this? Possible reasons for the delay? It seems like this would be a straightforward application so the delay seems like it may end up being a denial.
