Is PCC necessary while travelling first time on T1 ??

Post by Humana » Fri Apr 10, 2009 9:55 am

Hi All,

Can anybody please guide whether PCC is necessary while travelling first time on T1. Or can it be helpful if we carry it with us?
Or if we dont carry it with us, can It create any problem anytime in future?? Can we get it from India while residing in UK?

Thanks for your time.

please reply asap.

What is PCC? If you are talking about verification from Police in India, it is not needed for entering UK on Tier-1 (G), first time or otherwise.

PCC is Police Clearance Certificate.
Doesnt it is required/is helpful in getting the Security Clerance in UK?

Which country are you applying from? I gather from your post that you are from India - you do not need any security clearance etc. If you have VISA to enter UK you are fine.

I am from India.
I am talking about Security Clearance which is required for some jobs in UK. If PCC is not required then how we get the security clerance in UK.??

Security Clearance in UK is different from PCC. Security Clearance is given by Home Office once you are in UK and your employer ask Home Office for the same. Security Clearance (SC) is only needed for the jobs/roles where you deal with Highly Classified data. You cannot apply for SC on your own. It has to be by your employer in UK.

You will not be asked for PCC at immigration check. Forget and ignore it.
