PhD Student and Spousal Work Permit

Post by smitty1788 » Fri Apr 25, 2014 2:24 pm

I am in the early stages of the PhD process to Trinity College Dublin. I am from the US. As I am currently married, will my spouse qualify for a Spousal Work Permit as a dependent on my visa? From what I understand the UK gives full work permit to spouses of students in Post Grad programs longer then 12 months. Is my spouse eligible to apply for the spousal work permit? Thanks for any help!

Below is text from http://www.djei.ie website:
a third country researcher under the Scheme for admission for Third Country Researchers to Ireland (Hosting Agreement)

If you fall under researcher scheme then yes, otherwise its worth dropping an email at employmentpermits@djei.ie.
they are fairly quick to reply.

you can read full text;

All the best
