Please, provide me proper information ASAP.

My visa is going to expire on 25 Oct 2011. I am doing my dissertation and my course start date is 26 Oct 2011 (original start date is 11 Jan 2010) and completion date is 16 Dec 2011 according to CAS. So I am extending visa for less than 2 months.
My baby was born in UK and is 15 months+ and it is first time I am applying for my baby as my dependent. My university visa adviser told I have to apply from my home country for my baby according to new rule. Now I am confused, can I apply from UK? Please, provide me proper information ASAP.

It is correct that under the PBS dependent rules your child would not qualify however ask you adviser to have a look at para 305-309 of the Immigration Rules which allow children who are born in the UK who are not British citizens to parent(s) with limited leave to be granted leave in line with their parents.

However if your child is not travelling then s/he doesn't need a visa.
