Plz Help me!! missed out letter from Uni in PSW app..

Post by midhunjoz » Mon Oct 03, 2011 11:19 am

Hi dear friends and brothers...

Mine was a truly unfortunate case, where i missed out to send my letter from University( wch is required as i have not received degree certifacte yet)...
Now I have got both acknowledgement letter and Biometric invitation letter, but I havent dont my biometrics yet.. I contacted home office, but they said I can send in the doccument along with change of circumstance form, if i wish..But there is no guarantee that the case worker might accept it..So i am confused to wether send it or just go and do my biometrics and wait till any further notification comes from the case worker in this regard. (bcoz it was mentioned in acknowldgment that no further doccuments should be send unless the caseworker asks for it).. So plzz my friends, kindly give me a proper advice, as to what can be done now..i am tensed like hell..there was no body to assist me for fillingout the application which ended up in such a big mistake, even though i dont know how many times i rechecked even for minute mistakes... will my application be refused if i dont send the letter??? my visa will be over by october 10th..in a week's time...plss help outt...i am really really tensed..

If you do not send the letter now - then the refusal is sure if there is no other evidence, as prescribed in the policy guidance, included to prove your qualification.
If you send the letter now - then the chance of refusal is reduced if the letter reaches the caseworker before he/she has made a decision on your application.

1. Call up UKBA and enquire to which address you should send this new document to.
2. Write a covering letter, include reference number and personal information (name, dob, passport no., nationality) and state that you are enclosing the letter that you inadvertently missed including your application. Request that it be considered when assessing your application.
3. Post the letter+form to the address advised by UKBA through special delivery.
4. Keep proof of posting in safe possession.
5. Do this without any further delay.

First of all thank you veryy veryyy much for the time taken to reply my problem..it was so kind of you......
many told me that mine is not a case of mis representation of data or wrong data..and it is a case of a missing doccument, which can even happen after the doccuments reaching at UKBA office. So the case worker might give me a notice or email and a week's time or so to produce it and send it to them again..and till that they might keep that application in hold.. This is the reason why I havent send it to sheffield adress yet.. But i am looking for a genuine and expert advice on this matter before i moove ahead with either doing biometrics and waiting for case worker's notice, or send that doccumnt along with case ref no to sheffield's adress.. Please advice me what should i do here...and why should i do it? I am really stuck here, with my heart beating like hell.....

Sushdmehta has already given you advice on what to do and why you should do it. Why would you not want to do it? The longer you delay, the closer the time comes when the caseworker looks at your file, and if your documents are not there, then you have not complied to the requirements. Just do it and stop deliberating whether it's necessary.

Yes..As per his advice, I am going to send this letter tommorow morning itself and will also do my biometrics by evening..hope god wil not leave me...I am going to copy paste the matter i have written in the cover page to UK Border agency..Kindly go through it, and let me know, is that fine or need any amendment..

"Dear sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter because unfortunately and accidently I missed out to keep my letter from University (confirming the award of my qualification) along with my Tier 1 Post Study Work Visa application. I have received my acknowledgment letter and invitation for Biometrics. As per the suggestion from the Home Office representatives, I am enclosing my letter from University along with this letter which I missed out without my knowledge or intention. I kindly request and plead you to consider this, while assessing my application. I am going to do my biometrics with the hope that my concern will be addressed and solved. Very kindly requesting your support for processing my Visa, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience happened."

I posted that cover letter, along with the missing doccument today itself..It wil reach UKBA by tommorow 1pm. So Please somebody let me know, should i do my biometrics a 3-4 days later only???? because i feels like if i am doing my biometrics early, before my doccuments are reached safely to the case worker..then it might be a big problem..So should i postpone my biometrics??? kindly advice, pleaseee....i am going clueless.......

Does the biometrics invitation letter say that you can enrol your biometrics at a post-office?

Don't worry unnecessarily. Cross the bridge when you get to it. Be calm .. so that you make the right decisions ... rather than making wrong decisions in haste, under stress!

Suggest that you book an appointment for enrolling biometrics at the nearest PEO / biometric enrolment centres. I don't think you'll get an appointment within the next 3-4 weeks .. thereby giving ample time gap to (hopefully) ensure that your letter reaches the caseworker. Even if dates are available for coming weeks, try to book a slot 3-4 weeks from now.

Do remember that you must book an appointment within 15 working days of receiving the letter. So that gives you an extra time window, should you need it.

Thanks for your kind words, sir.. My document will reach UK border agency, Sheffield's office by tommorow 1pm. So i am thinking of doing my biometrics by next week..Hopefully that would give sufficient time for the document to reach the case worker...

End of next week or any day the week after should be fine, IMHO.
