Point for Past Earnings

Post by sunilsh » Fri Apr 01, 2005 5:43 pm

Dear All,

I am planning to apply for HSMP application and want to claim points for past Earnings. I am presently in saudi Arabia which is Class B country as per the HSMP form, so i want to claim 25 point for that. As per application form i need to submit i should supply two evidence, as in saudi arabia, companies don't give salary slip and there is no Income tax also. I can provide a letter from my employer stating my salary and my bank statement which shows that i get money transfer to my account every month.

Is this sufficient to claim points ?

Pls. suggest.

Thanks,
SS

Sunilsh,

Make sure that you explain very precisely in the earnings section the situation in Saudi Arabia about taxes and wage slips. It wouldn't hurt to have some outside documentation for this, as well. The caseworkers will not necessarily know about different systems in different countries, so try to explain it to them.

The guidance notes state that a letter from your employer is a valid type of documentation for earnings. I would ask your payroll department to explain their process and that they don't provide pay slips or tax statements. Does your bank statement clearly show the name of your company for the deposit? Our bank shows the name of the company making the deposit, so if it's the same for yours, I would think that this would work.

Do you have any letters from when you were hired, stating your salary or a promotion letter or anything like that with salary information?

In that case, what I would do if I were you, is to ask your employer to write a letter stating that they pay X amount into your bank (giving bank name and account number) and state the dates that the payments were made.

Then, go through your bank statements and mark the deposits, so that the caseworker can find that the deposits correspond with the letter from your employer.
