Portuguese citizenship for the child in London

Hi there!

Here is the situation I am trying to find the way from as a little information provided.I would like to register the child as Portuguese citizen in London.My partner is Portuguese.I m non EU so have to provide the translated copy of my birth certificate which I dont mind.Another question is a type of legislation for the translated copy.What would satisfy the Consulate?Certification, notarization or apostille?Can I actually apostile non UK document here?

The second question is the child birth certificate.It is issued here as she was born here.Should I translate and apostille that?

If anyone can shed the light on this matter I d be so grateful.

I would just provide the original UK birth certificate. if you do not yet have it, be sure to get a LONG birth certificate. I would actually get 3 or 4 copies of it when you register the baby.

I was trying to contact them but no clarification.They told me to e mail to them again.it is ridiculously long time for the reply.Might take two weeks.The appointment is at the end of September.The baby s certificate is fine.The problem here is my birth certificate which was issued in non EU country and I am confused in order to legalise it.

You could always submit what you have. If they need anything else, they will ask.

The benefit of doing it that way is that you put less time into it now. If they need it, then you spend the time figuring out how to do what they want and then doing it.
