Possibility to apply FLR(M)?Soon I get ILR approval-urgent

Post by washa » Thu Apr 23, 2015 12:25 pm

Hi All,

I am in UK under Tier -1 dependent from past 5years.

My same day premier appointment is on 29th may 2015 for ILR.

Both Mrs and my visa expires on 07.May.2015. She has been living with me in UK
from past 11 month as entered visa Tier 1 Dependent after marriage that happened 1.2 years back.

My question is can I apply safely for her FLR(M) without any risk just after my approval for ILR based on the Home office approval
letter? I personally pefer FLR(M) by post clearly for money reasons - as after paying taxes from past 5years and then thousands and thousands of pounds as visa fee every couple of years.

I spoke to solicitor he says its better to apply and continue with Tier-1 dependent but when asked why not FLR(M) he has no solid reason why my Mrs. cannot apply for the FLR(M).

Also If I can apply for FLR(M) for her, is Life in UK test required, also she has proved her English via degree taught in English when she came to UK last year, would that be fine or an English test from a UK center is required for FLR(M) applicants ?

Thanks in advance.
