Post Vs Courier Services

Post by msarwar » Fri Jan 30, 2015 11:36 pm

Hi Respected Members,
I am to apply via Post for my Visa Extension before 10th Feb.

I intend to do it using Royal Mail Postal Service.

I do know that:
36. The date of application will be taken to be the following:
• Where the application form is sent by post, the date of posting; or
• Where the application form is sent by courier, the date on which it is delivered to the
Home Office of the Home Office; or

My Query is:
1. If i choose to sent by Post using 1st Class Royal Mail Recorded / special deliveries, would it be classified as Application by Post or Application by Courier?
2. If I choose to sent by Post using 1st Class Royal Mail Recorded / special deliveries, which Address I need to address it to:

-Postal address:
UK Visas & Immigration, Home Office, Tier 1, PO Box 496, Durham, DH99 1WQ

-Courier address:
UK Visas & Immigration, Home Office, Tier 1, Millburngate House, Millburngate, Durham, DH97 1PA

Your urgent response would be highly appreciated.

Noone answered because it is obvious answers .

1. if you send by post it is considered as Application by Post.
2. If you send by post you send to the postal address.

You are welcome

Hi,
Thanks for your reply: I know its basic but important to address.

The reason for asking this basic question is, that according to a perception

1. 1st Class Royal Mail is considered Application by Post

However,

2. 1st Class Royal Mail which is Recorded and Signed for special deliveries is considered as Application by Courier?

Can it kindly be answered please?
