Post Submission no email received yet

Dear Sir/Mam,

I have ILR. On 9th Nov, we submitted my wife's application under joining family category. she is based in India-Mumbai, After submitting application @VFS we received an acknowledgement(Paper format). But generally on immediate next day we used to get an email acknoledgement as well. Not sure if that policy is withdrawn but i haven't received any email from British Deputy High Commission Mumbai office. So we are in little bit confusion whether our application has reached British High commision or not.
tried contacting UKBA over email, but their answer is not quite clear.

How can we ensure that it's getting processed. On the same day (i.e. 9th Nov) even British High commision @ New Delhi also shifted their premises. So i am bit worried.
