Application date: 15/10/2013--NCS
Acknowledgement: 5/11/2013

Approval dated: 24/02/2014 ( received 28th)

One suggestion for people still waiting: Please do not lose hope and DO NOT be upset upon what you hear from HO call centre or emails about 'no decision is still made on your application'

I called them on 27th and they said it is still in process and no update. But the approval date was dated 24th.

Good luck all. You will get there eventually.
Well done, am happy that October batch is almost complete. Also like he said, I don't think its wise to trust the emails or HO anymore. When I phoned HO back in January about my application, they guy said on the system it shows still in progress when my application was already approved and dispatched to my address. So your best option is just waiting and find something to preoccupy your time until you get the surprise brown letter. :D
As usual the good for nothing people sitting at the customer service desk simply do a copy paste of a response... guess they are incapable of reading and understanding the emails and providing appropriate answers...

I rang them today and as usual the same lame response ... I wonder how dumb these people at the other end of the phone are ... if they cannot atleast give some real response or atleast do some check and see whats actually happening with the application, then why even bother have these useless people answer the phones.

Rather than having these people on phone its best they have an online checking system where we can straightaway check the real status of our application.

i really dont know what they mean by last update. I rang several times over the past 2 weeks and they said in progress. however today he mentioned about the last update for first time. my best guess is one of two thinhs. 1. the case worker has just started working on it. 2. a decision has been made and I should wait for formal leter. this is my guess only

I can't believe they debited the fees less than a week after application! Hopefully now it will be fast and I get the approval, fingers crossed.

Did anyone have to send documents to the HO again after requesting them back? I might need to request my passport back and am thinking of sending the HO a certified copy immediately after I get it in order not to slow down the process. Many thanks.

majamcr, first of all, this is the wrong topic for your question.

Secondly, I requested the originals back after about 4-5 weeks. I did it online and identified that I do not want to withdraw the application, I just want the originals back. The documents arrived in the brown envelope, 1st class, and a letter stating that they have considered them and would they wish to see them again, they will contact me.

So I suppose there is no need to send them certified copies.

P.S. I asked this question before and had no response, so a bit concerned about selective answering in this forum.

@alex_shvjac, thanks a lot for your prompt reply, it is most helpful. I am aware that I am abusing this topic, but thought that I might have best chances of getting a reply here.
