Post by aarnav » Mon Mar 10, 2014 10:32 pm

Hello Forum Moderators/Fellow Members

I would like to know if an OCI Card Holder Dentist (Qualified from India) can go back to India & work

or is it not permitted at all ,whether government Sector or Private Practice.

There are contrary statements over internet ,hence seeking opinion /advice

Thanks

don't see any reason why he can't practise in private as long as the qualification is recognised by the dental council of india.

post any statements that you have found that are in contradiction.

This link indicates something on those lines ,though not sure about whether it determines this based on qualification or citizenship

I believe this should be fine for OCI holders (the medical council act was amended last year to include OCIs).

8. In section 13 of the principal Act,—
(a) in sub-sections (2) and (3), for the words “a citizen of India”, the
words “a citizen of India or an overseas citizen of India” shall respectively be
substituted;
