Unable to edit my posts for some reason, so I'm updating thusly:

Date of debit or clearance of fees: 20/01/2014
Date of approval letter: 09/03/2014

Date of ceremony: 28/03/2014 (Letter from council dated 12/03, received 13/03)
I finally received my approval letter from the Home Office today! In a strange twist, I received a letter from my local council last week, congratulating me for my approved application, and inviting me to the ceremony 28-March. Of course, you must bring the original letter from the Home Office with you to the ceremony, and since I still hadn't received it yesterday (17-March), I panicked. I emailed the help desk, and they responded this morning. They confirmed the date my approval letter was sent, and offered to send another copy. When I got home, the letter was in my post box. Not sure why it took a week from Liverpool to London, but at least I received it. When contacting the help desk (NationalityHelpdesk@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk), remember to provide your full name, date of birth, address, and reference (from your confirmation letter). Otherwise, they will email back to ask this information, and your query will take longer. I hope this information is beneficial. :D

The 2nd class postage by HO is a disgrace, given how much they charge for the application. I was told by HO my decision was made on 09th March, but despatch was on 14th March. It even takes a week to despatch, and then even by 2nd class snail post. We can only wait...

Post by farrukhnizam » Wed Mar 19, 2014 2:13 pm

Hi,
My application decision was made on the 6th March and the letters were dispatched on the 11th March but i have not received yet.

I dont think they are using 2nd class postage, look like 3rd of 4th class postage service.

Thanks

Hi everyone, just got my approval letter today :D and want to share my experience:

Eligibility criteria: 5 years businessperson + 8 months ILR (Annex B, Ch 18, Para 7.5G discretion)
Citizenship: Pakistani
Method of application: NCS Westminster
Date applicant sent: 16/01/14
Date of receipt by UKBA: 17/01/14
Date of debit of fees: 04/02/14
Date of acknowledgement letter: 29/01/14
Date of approval: 07/03/14 (the letter was received by me on 19/03/14)
Date of Ceremony: 20/03/14 Private ceremony

Finally this wait is over. I must say it has been a pleasure to be on this forum and to learn from all you amazing people. HO use 2nd class post and it took my approval letter 12 days to arrive! So stay patient, and in the end it will all be good! In actuality, it took one month and one week from the point of acknowledgement letter issue to the date of the decision letter issue.

All the best to everyone!
