Though my local authority is Sutton, strangely the approval letter says I should contact the local authority of Surrey and have included its address and number. I am not sure why they did so as I had clearly written the address and name of my local authority.

Is is possible to change it or should I just go and attend at Surrey?
Its around 1 hour drive , though my local registrar office is a 10 minutes drive.

Dear milan96, thank you very much, I think its sensible to go to the wrong address than asking them to change, you are right

Sorry the delay of update
We were initially given a date in March but as I am away for work abroad, could not make the date. I had to request for an extension as I would not be back before the end of the 3 month window which was mid- may ( I think the 18th to be precise). I was then given a further 6 weeks extension - till sometime in July hence the delay in the date of the ceremony. This forum has been very helpful. Many thanks to all

Hi All,

I applied for citizenship recently through 5 year Tier 1 + 1 year ILR.

for all those 6 years I have been working continuously and I am still working and paying tax etc.

I got married last September(7 months ago). and my wife is still in my/her home country. She is planning to apply for spouse visa in my/her home country in august.

Do you think does it cause an issue for my application that she is still in my/her home country?

Thanks

Same here. I applied towards the end of November and still waiting for approval! When rung them I was told my case was last handled on 19/03/2014 but she didn't give me any further details. So I asked whether a decision has been made or not, but she said she couldn't tell me that! My application is simple and straightforward. I have no criminal record or any other conviction. I am totally disgusted by the quality of service received after paying so much money! It's not worth it…..

People with immigration fraud and criminal conviction got their application approved way before mine while honest people are left to suffer! I will lodge a formal complain!

Kassem can you please keep us updated about your case.

Check out page 13 of this report on how they prioritise nationality applications:

That report also reveals that not only do complex cases get prioritised first, the simple ones are given to novices and cases dealt by novices have to be approved by a supervisor adding additional delay. The message is simple - if you have a straightforward application be prepared to wait longer than usual.

Thanks 'anotherbrickinthewall'…but what kind of justice system is that? The complex one's are prioritised so they are not delayed but in that process the simple ones are getting delayed?

The report appears to be full of appraisals…don't know if its a true reflection of their work standard. Their customer service claims to have achieved a "Service Excellence Status" but if you look around the forum you will know what people really think about their call centres and email services.
