It seems that HO mails majority of approvals over the weekend for some reason.

I applied on 13th of jan thr ncs hammersmith ., recieved by them on 14th., still haven't recieved my approval.
Whenever i call them they give me different answers.
I think the best thing is to just try not think about it

^ lol

i dont think applicants are supposed to call them before the 6 month period anyway. But nonetheless I think their info is limited to when they receive an application and when (if at all) it has been transferred for a different check (but they dont know where exactly) and when a decision has been made. and thats it.

Its kind of like whenever we buy something online from amazon or wherever...we know when something has been dispatched to you if given a tracking number...but we cant know if the van driver needed to stop to buy petrol...or have a coffee break..you know?

I dont think they know if its assigned to a caseworker or any of the real details.

I think it's a little more complicated than what you're stating. Many people have contacted UKBA asking for an update, and have received the usual response of "no decision made", but a few days later have had their approval, with the decision dated before they contacted the UKBA.

"It is not completed yet but it looks positive and it looks as if it will be resolved in a week or so"

Sorry but I can't figure out how to edit my post - there doesn't appear to be a link anywhere to do so. I have updated my timeline below:

Eligibility criteria: 2 years unmarried partner VISA, 3 years ILR
Language criteria met: Life in the UK + Exempt Country
Method of application: NCS
Date of application: 15/01/2014
Payment method: Debit Card Payment Slip
Date of receipt by UKBA: 16/01/2014 (Royal Mail Tracking)
Date of acknowledgment: 01/02/2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 01/02/2014
Date approval received: 24/03/2014 (letter dated: 11/03/2014)
Date of ceremony: 11/4/2014

Thank you to the moderators for this forum - it has provided immense reassurance. Good luck to everyone!

Just as an aside, I actually found out I had received citizenship when I arrived back on a flight from France. The border agent told me that it had been approved on the 11th (he had to look up my status because I had left my biometric card at home) - the letter was waiting for me when I arrived home.

The gentleman I spoke to was not from a call centre and it seems as if he was a case worker and the information he was giving me seemed like he was reading my file directly. He did not say his name nor introduced himself and he was little surprised that I am calling only 2 months after I submitted my application.

I called 2 times using old number. 2 different and contradictory answers. So not trustworthy reply.

@som
What did they say? Using the old number I got told that it was assigned to the "caseworking team", and "incomplete", with the new number, I got told by both people that it is waiting allocation to a caseworker, and I should wait another month before calling as it has just been over 2 months now.

I suggest to give the new number a call as it seems as though they have more up to date information.

Well it's great news that at least you have been allocated a caseworker, can I ask when did you apply?

Thanks Chir. I need to travel while I wait for my new passport and was unsure if my ILR would be accepted at the Border on my way back. This seems to indicate that using my old passport along with the ILR would probably work.

Is that reference number yours or just anything for testing purpose?
