Tier 2 (general) visa for 05 years, April 2014

Post by asif2133 » Tue Apr 08, 2014 8:29 am

Hi all,
I have applied for an initial Tier 2 (General) visa in March, 2014 and got my visa on 25/03/2014 for 03 years. the new rules that come into force after 6 april allows for an initial visa of 05 years. seems like i missed out.
the question is , if there will be an oportunity for people who already have got a tier 2 visa to reapply and claim the full 05 years leave.

regards
Asif

an added information is that my job is permanent with no end date. my employer had to put in a 03 year period in the CoS as that was the maximum allowed at that time.
the problem with extension application after 03 years will be that the salary has to meet experienced rate. my salary won't have progressed that much in just three years so an initial 05 year visa is just a big blessing.

@obaied: the five year visa grant has been put in the 'statement of intent by the UKBA. so it will come into force soon.

the new entrant rate cannot be used for applications for leave that would extend the total stay under T2 for more than 3 years + 1 month.
