Indian passport for new born baby

Indian passport for new born baby

Hi

I am holding british passport (through naturalisation) and my wife is indian. We recently had a baby born in india. We would like to apply for Indian Passport for baby. As i am currently in UK, do i need to get any NOC/affadavit from Indian Embassy to authorise my wife for applying baby's indian passport??

I am not sure whether the indian consulate will be able to provide affadavit as i am not indian.

Please kindly advise
