Hey, I got my approval, as I mentioned in my previous thread(almost 50 days late then it was originally posted). Unfortunately UKBA response time to emails is very very very slow(I am still waiting for their reply), and there is no way to speak to them via phone (I tried couple of times).
All I can say is best of luck mate, and hopefully yours approval letter should be in soon.
Thanks, Kaz.

@kaz0101, why do you need the reply of the email whereas you received the approval letter in meanwhile?

Does anyone know how long it took after being told it was assigned to a case worker?

I at last got the approval letter today. Its dated 7th March 2014, and says to contact local council within 21 days. Its already round 48 days late now.
I ll contact the council tomorrow, but can they ask to reapply for application ?
Thanks,
That must be very painful. That means you actually got your decision almost two weeks before mine (mine was dated 20-03-14) yet you receive your letter now while I received on 29-03-2014. I don't think it could be Royal Mail. It is entirely possible HO dispatched your letter very late or maybe forgot entirely about it and just realized that they have a letter to send after you chasing them and all...not good!

Sorry to hear that . IMHO still contact your local council and explain them, since you don't have many options :(

I was told at my local council that nobody cares about the 21 day rule to get in touch with them, the only thing that matters is that the ceremony takes place within 3 months.

January 2014 Applications Update
  • Applicants: 143
    Fee Debits: 140 (~ 98%) (pending: nselarka*, s4sam, KyleDM)
Approvals: 125** (~ 87%) (congratulations on newest approvals for kaz0101, harry909, latansingh, dabbler80, nbweb, sabster)
    * Please add your timeline using this format
** I have excluded winchesterguy's update from these figures as he has yet to receive the Home Office confirmation letter

Average waiting time between Fee Debit and Approval Letter Date (FD2ALD): ~ 28 weekdays***
Average waiting time between Fee Debit and Approval Letter Receipt (FD2ALR): ~ 34 weekdays***
*** This metric is entirely down to individual circumstances, such as complexity of application and 2nd class post receipt time, to name but two.
Interesting aside relating to the above waiting times - the second half of this post is an email reply from the Home Office confirming a decision being made on an application, followed by a gap of a few days before the decision letter was dispatched.
18 pending applications, hopefully these are resolved this month:
I have excluded the following applicants since date of receipt of one's application by the UKBA is the effective application date (if I am incorrect, please let me know, as I am merely going by the timelines posted):

Here are the 143 applicants so far, please let me know of any errors or omissions (pending applications highlighted in red, hyperlinks to past approvals):

General progress so far for January 2014:

To all January 2014 applicants - please try and keep your timelines updated and accurate as it benefits the topic and others when you do so. Relevant update posts (like this one) in my signature to make them easy to track.

As always, thanks to amthekkel, p2kin, jotter, TTOE and tier_2_applicant for their data and formats.

Hi guys, just want to ask about the update, how many left waiting for approval? Unfortunately.
Applied for EEA4 on 24/02/2012.
HO received on 27/02/2012.
Refusal received on 16/08/2012 dated 11/08/2012
At the court, the HO REP withdrawn the decision and asked me to send the DOC for the time before marriage.

Number: 03001232253

I call around 11am-12pm but today I called at about 1:30pm and got through first time. Before hand I had to call around 10-20 times in a row to get through. I found that speaking to Ashley, or Neil was very helpful as they actually check your information.

Just to let you know, I called on Friday the 2nd and was told that no decision was made and it was not even with a case worker (the guy was not very helpful and just told me to wait), but was told decision was made on Friday the 2nd. I've called my council and they have my certificate so it looks as though it's an approval!

Best of luck.

Sorry to hear that. I guess it depends on the person replying the email and the status of your application. When I wrote to this email address, I got a very up-to-date information that the decision has been made recently and posted on the day of writing. I received the approval letter indeed two days later and it was approved on the day I received the reply email.

I called the council and they said that they arrange the ceremonies automatically, and that I need to wait to receive the letter from them before even booking a private one. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes the council pre arrange ceremonies as soon as they receive your approval from HO. If you wont make that date you can reschedule or book a private ceremony if you like.

Hi

You should call HO and find out, or the only possible reason can be your case worker is offsick or something.

Please ring them and they should help.

Thanks
