Natalie,

Are you waiting for Restricted COS allocation to you?
If yes When did your application for RCoS got submitted to UKBA?

It seems that unrestricted CoS are never "allocated". They are always available to the sponsor to create a sponsorship. If you download SMS (Sponsorship Management System) PDF guide from UKBA website you will see that.

tbey are not always available.
U get a certain quota for each year, requests of which are made in Jan-feb time generaly, following an email from ukba.

Once u have assigned all the available U-COS, and still need more, u can request more using SMS. This then takes between 2 days to 2 weeks to be allocated.

Thanks iworker.

Another question : Is there any restriction to travel out of country a month before applying for the Switching immigration category application?

Thanks iworker.

There was a small typo in my previous post.

Another question : Is there any restriction on traveling out of country a month before applying for the Switching immigration category application?
What I meant is I have a travel plan this month end and I am planning for Visa switch next month. So there should not be an issue?

Thanks
Natalie

Hi Natalisain,

Can you please advise how long it took you to get the unrestricted CoS? My HR has applied recently and I am not sure how long it takes.

Thanks.

Hi Manci,

As per you suggestion, please could you reply to the below question of mine?

I have a quick question on cos issue. I am in the UK since Jan 2013 and my Tier-2 ICT visa extension application will be done in October'15. (Visa runs out on 9th Jan'16) If my employer doesn't have a cos allocation how long will it take from the time they apply on the SMS system for it?

I am the only person in my company on this SMS system and no one has been sponsored post me from end of 2012.

Look forward to your reply.

Many thanks.

It will normally take 2-3 weeks, perhaps even sooner but some cases it takes as long as 2-3 months.. So please be advised that you apply ASAP to avoid last minute chaos.

Why does it take 2-3 months? Your reply just freaked me out!

Sorry but I am worried since my visa runs out on 9th Jan-2016!

Kind regards,

it normally takes around 2 weeks or less, it is only if there are problems with the application that it may take longer. Has the sponsor company applied for the allocation yet?
The employer helpline is 0300 123 4699, they are usually quite good answering queries.

Hi everyone.

Does anybody know how long does the Unrestricted CoS allocation take at present?
The employer has requested an additional UCoS on the 2nd of October. It has been 5 weeks now.
Bear in mind it is not 'assigning' the CoS but the additional employer's allocation.

Many thanks!

Hi,

My new employer has requested for an increase in COS allocation as they missed to renew the allocation by April for this year. It been 3 weeks since they applied but has not got any response from home office yet. If any body recently applied for increase in allocation could you please share your processing times.
