Passport expiry urgent help

Hi i need help urgently my husband was suppose to submit his passport with call letter today but we have realised that his passport expires in 5 months does anyone know if the applicant needs to have atleast 6 months validity on their passport .

Yes minimum 6 months according to UKBA website
