Update: I received my Home Office Invitation Letter and Approval on 14th May (dated 9th May). My ceremony was for 9th June but I change it and my ceremony was today (20th May). Good luck to everyone and I wish you to receive soon your approval letters.

I called up Home Office yesterday afternoon to enquire about the status of my application. I have been told that a decision was taken and a letter was dispatched yesterday. Eagerly waiting for the letter now..

My NCS appointment was 19 March 2014 but a document (Copy of my Stolen Passport) was missing so a lady at NCS did ask for that document to bring next week. So a complete application was submitted 26 March 2014.

Hi Faani I thought you received your approval already but just didnt post the results. Hopefully you will receive your appoval soon. I had my ceromy yesterday and even applied for passport same day.

I totally agree with HO when they say that applicants need to wait 6 months as it has been mention on application form.
But I can't get my head around when people from March are still waiting for application to be allocated and April candidates have already got there decision.
No one should make any complain if case is with a caseworker and caseworker taking long time to make decision. At least allocation of applications to case workers should be done fairly.

Bad experience booking the ceremony...
I called the council on Tuesday as it said on the letter to contact council within 21 days. I was told to wait for their invitation, I asked if I could book a private ceremony and again was told to wait for the original invitation and call back to rebook I found the lady on the line quite rude and unpleasant.
Perhaps it was just me, did anyone else went through same experience?

Hi All,

Few strange things happening with my application so thought to share get more insights.
[See my time line below]

I had received one strange call yesterday late in evening identifying her to be called from City hall , London mayor office, informing that I am invited for ceremony at City hall in month of June. I was told it is annual event where Mayor also comes in person to attend the ceremony. Then she asked me wether I would like to join or not. I told her that I would like to but I do not have approval letter from home office yet on which she said you will have soon. They she confirmed all my details. I did not share any information but she had all and I just said yes yes. In the end she said city hall will send out official invite and before it I'll get email and post.

Today morning I called both home office and council where I applied.

Home office ( 0300 123 2253) kindly replied saying that decision has been made on my application but result they wont discuss over phone but for sure, I'll receive result letter soon. When I informed about the call they said they can't advise on it.

Council office said they have not received any confirmation on my application so far from Home office. Also they are not sure about the call whether it is right or any fraud. But they think it might be right & official one. They also said they are expecting next batch of approval for this council to come from home office in this week but if mine is going to City hall office then it may not come to them.

Can any one shade any light on this? Did any one experience something like this?

I see a lot of people applying later than me, some even in april are already approved. Not complaining about unfairness, but just worried if a wait like this is normal at this time? Anyone waiting a similar length of time?

I called them on 16 May, and got a reply that no CW had been assigned yet, and my case is still "in the queue". Wonder if I should call them again, in case their correspondence (approval, or a request for additional evidence) is lost in the mail?

I applied week after you. I called them yesterday and got same reply. Regarding your question about additional documents , it can only be asked once it is with a case worker.

Hi Sogy, Haidi5 is right. I applied on 24/03 and last Saturday I recieved a letter asking for more evidence for year 2009 ( whilst all my same week applicants got their approvals ) I have sent them on Monday by special delivery. My point is that they will only request any additional info once your application is with a CW.
You are only paranoid that is all, we all are

don't worry soon you will recieve it before you know it

I see that my waiting time is not out of the ordinary (just yet), but I'll try to call tomorrow.

What I would really not want to happen is any request for additional evidence being lost in the mail, and the HO then rejecting my application because I have not responded within 3 weeks.

I rung HO last week Friday n they said your application is with CW team but they haven't made any decision - same reply
