(Urgent) Passport Application

Post by srreddy » Sun Jun 22, 2014 9:44 pm

Hi, I would be very grateful if you could help me with this asap.

I got my naturalization certificate about a week ago. I am going to apply for my passport application.

When I applied for my naturalization, I filled in my parents' dates of birth without double checking with them. This time when I filled in my passport application I called my parents to confirm it.
And I realized that I got their birth dates wrong on the naturalization application form. I am also not sure what dates I have put in for the DOB in the naturalization form.

My query is what to fill in the passport application form ? Would the passport interview be based on what details I put in my passport application form ? Please could you assist.

Thank you very much for your time and help!!

hmm now thats a bit tricky . as i think they "can" ask you the dates during the interview.
you should have made a copy of the application form your sent for your naturalization.

do you not remember what dates you put ? even if you guessed you must have some recollection of it like roughly same year or month ?

it is a tricky situation now.

you either put the correct dates and attach a letter explaining the (old dates were guess work) which makes your previous application invalid.
(i am not an expert but thats my guess as its a catch 22 kind of situation )
In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

Fill in the dates on the form that you now have as correct. They do ask this in the interview and you could explain then if necessary.

It should not be an issue.
