Post by deepak_sachdev25 » Sat Aug 04, 2007 6:05 pm

Hi everbody,

I am actually trying for HSMP and was wondering if I could work in Ireland.
If anybody could throw some light on it. If yes looking for Jobs in Banking and Investment Banking Field.
Any contributions would be highly appreciated

Thanks

Your British visa makes no difference in the Republic of Ireland. And spending time in the ROI may mean that you are ineligible for permanent residence in Britain.

To add to that, ROI (Ireland) is a different, i.e. sovereign country. It's like trying to live and work in Canada on a US work permit. So, you need a work permit for Ireland to work in Ireland, otherwise you'd be working illegally (if trying to use your HSMP).
Be careful about living in N. Ireland and working in Ireland - that must be a tricky one (for ILR), even if you do obtain a visa for both countries.
