What I understand, it has been closed for those who have not registered their companies with company house and inland revenue department before 11/7/14. Those who have done this already, will be allowed to apply with some more restrictions.

If you registered your business before 24th June and your business is trading then you can apply.

Check new application form, page 25.

Tier 1 psw Transitional arrangement - 11 July 2014 - access to not less than £50000 and previously held leave as Tier 1 PSW migrant and since before 24 June 2014 and up to the date of your application you have been continuously engaged in business activity, either as registered self-employed or director, in an occupation at degree level.

The core of the test is not about " registering a business with Companies House or being a self employed with HMRC" but to demonstrate that you are TRADING already. Your claim to be trading will be assessed against a set of parameters/criteria and body of evidence you provide and those collected by the Home Office themselves. How much time do those of us who are yet to apply have to start trading quickly in order to look legitimate and genuine? Well time will tell. Currently, just having a contract is not enough prooof that you are trading. I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT ALL PWS APPLICANTS WHO SUBMITTED THEIR APPLICATIONs AFTER 11 JULY HAVE BEEN DENIED! Shame!

Check new application form, page 25.

That is a misprint in the form. This surely is a typoo error. I am saying this because at least at 10+ other places in POLICY GUIDANCE it is stated that business should have been registered before 11 July 2014 not 24 June 2014.

If you search policy guidance with date 24 June 2014. Not even a single result comes up. It means it is not stated there. However at least at dozen places it is stated there that business should have been registered before 11 July 2014. (examples given below)

Hope this helps.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paragraph 23 (on page 5)of the policy guidance states
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) Transitional arrangement – 11 July 2014
If you are applying to switch from Tier 1 (Post-Study Work), you can also make an initial
application in the UK if you have:

• access to £50,000 or more from another source (including your own funds or money from third parties, which may include Venture Capital firms regulated by the FCA), and
• been continuously engaged in business in the UK since before 11 July 2014.

131. If you are claiming points for being self-employed either at time of your application or at any
other time during the period commencing before 11 July and up to the date of your application
you must provide one of the following documents to show your compliance with National
Insurance (NI) requirements:

You may have been self-employed for part of the time and a director at another time. However,
the above evidence must cover a continuous period commencing before 11 July 2014 up to no
earlier than three months before the date of your application. In this context

134. You must show that since before 11 July 2014 and up to the date of your application you
have been continuously working in an occupation which appears on the list of occupations
skilled to National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 4 or above

136. Business activity
You must provide one or more documents from the following list covering (either together or
individually) a continuous period commencing before 11 July 2014 up to no earlier than three
months before the date of your application to confirm your business activity
