It does seem like anybody who has applied in later part of May 14 has been waiting longer than usual 5/6 weeks time, I called HO and was told that its in progress

My wife has applied for BC and here are the details:

Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 06/06/2014
Date of receipt of approval: eagerly awaited
Date of Ceremony: awaited
We are concerned that the application is taking too long but are a little relieved that some of our other fellow applicants on this forum are also waiting for their approvals unfortunately.
One of the users made a very good point linking the extra delay/inefficiency in the HO processing to the passport backlog.

My wife applied for BC on 19th May from Stockport and we are still waiting to hear from them. I agree that in addition to the usual checks etc the passport backlog is one of the major reasons for delays in BC decisions. Good luck and God bless.

HI
I’m new to this forum so not sure where exactly to post this.
I received the citizenship approval letter dated the 9th of June (received on the 13th of June via special delivery) but since then I haven’t received the ceremony invitation.
I've rang them a few times but besides for the standard silly ‘‘call back in 2 weeks’’ I haven’t been able to get any useful information.
So my question is, have any of the posters here with similar approval dates already gotten their invitations? Is there anything I can do? As emails to the home office just get ignored.

Note: You can choose any NCS-accredited borough to submit your documents if you want to check the earliest date you can get (they can be busy and no available dates). You can also choose and mention to your application the borough you want your ceremony to be done.

There was a small goof up during my documents verification
. I was applying for registering my daughter (form MN1 -- birth in UK) as well along with my naturalisation. In the reference and identify section one of the referees wrote as 'Son of Work Colleague' instead of 'Daughter of Work colleague'. The NCS coordinator called someone to check what needs to be done and i was asked to write in the additional comments section that it has been mentioned incorrectly. Hope it wont be a problem..however fingers crossed!!!

Thank you, ikissin - if you were asking me that, I did call today and was told that my application was under consideration and that applications take up to 6 months. When I told them that is been told by other people (including the NCS officer!) that many applications take around 7 weeks, they gave me the 'no idea where you got this from , they take up to 6 months' line ... So obviously I have to just wait and pray ...

Thanks for your feedback guys. I think the response you got from the UKBA rep is a standard one, in line with information on the letter all of us received. I wonder if anyone knows even roughly how long it takes for them to process a case once it gets assigned to a case worker. I spoke to them again today as I found a couple of docs that I had initially not been able to include in my NCS application as I couldn't find them - so I thought I'd ask if it's worth me sending them on. I had a much nicer person on the phone today, but he told me that it's still pending, well within the delays, and he hasn't got any idea when it might be assigned to a key worker... So looks like it's a long way to go still (almost 8 weeks now and counting - but looks like a lot of people have been waiting for considerably longer...).

Don't think so. I had my application approved in may. Neither of my referee was contacted

I got the same answer. I called today asking about my application and was told that applications could take up to 6 months and they could not give any information... (I applied on 7th April 2014)
