I have a question. I've received approval yesterday but my GNIB card and re-entry visa will expire in August.
I have a trip booked for September.
Should I wait until August and then get a new GNIB and re-entry visa and then send GNIB to INIS to be able to travel? Or can I get a re-entry visa based on my approval letter?

Many thanks!
I think you better renew your GNIB and apply for a visa before you submit the documents or ask the citizenship devision for your GNIB to renew it and obtain a visa. I don't think the letter on its own can give you a re-entry visa. you can ask the immigration at Burgh Quay, if they tell you you can apply for a visa with the letter only. please let us know :)

On 01 May 2014, I got an acknowledgment from the Further Processing LSR Team. PLEASE COULD ANYONE HERE ADVICE ON MY LONG PENDING SITUATION AND IF THERE'S ANYTHING I COULD DO TO FURTHER FAVORABLY HELP THE PROCESS OF MY APPLICATION CULMINATING IN THE FINAL APPROVAL. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

years ago, my passport was about to expire same month as my visa, went to officer and explained my situation, he put stamp in my passport for 30 days, did not give me gnib card, charge me nothing and asked me to come back to him with fresh passport. then after one month, I got rest of visa on new passport and gnib card after paying fee.
So if I was in your situation, I ll take photo of gnib card, send it to CGP-714 today, then on 22nd go to gnib, take all relevant docs and asked them to give you grace period of one month. dnt see any problem with that. either they ll say oh u r grand no more stamps or ll give you stamp for another month. dont see, they ll issue you another GNIB card when their dept asked you to submit the same!!
so no card no fee!

A friend of mine just phoned me that she too got approved, she Lithuanian,an EU national. She sent photo and draft, does she need to have included copy of her passport? She couldn't find anything to clarify that. On the letter it doesn't say. Any input from an eu national who has gone thru these?

I have the same situation.

One option is to get stamp 6 on the non Irish passport and travel with it. I'm looking for people who did the same thing as they don't give re entry visa with stamp 6 as it should be enough to travel with.

Any new approvals please?

I applied in during 2nd half of Feb, 2nd Stage in early April,
They asked for copy of new GNIB early July.

No approval yet.

Any one else in the same situation?

The way things are looking I think the new minister is trying to change citizenship requirement or the processing. Same I think they are doing in uk, they are giving more preference to spouses of british national. To me it is prejudice if they will be doing that. For the past 2yrs in ireland approval was rolling out to many but now how come few.
beloved is the belief that there are inherent differences in people's traits and capacities that are entirely due to their race, however defined, and that, as a consequence, justify the different treatment of those people, both socially and legally.
