Does NHS sponsor doctors on Tier 2 dependant visa?

Hi,
Im a doctor by profession, on Tier 2 dependant visa. I completed undergrad and house job (FY1) in 2013. My visa states that i can not practice as a doctor/dentist in UK, so i wanted to find out if there are any other opportunities for me to avail. Am i eligible to sit for plab 2 while I'm on this visa? And if I (hopefully) clear the exam, is there any chance that I can find a job as a training doctor or will NHS sponsor a visa for me?

yes. You can give Plab. Once you have cleared Plab, you can apply for training or non-training jobs and once you get it NHS will do Tier 2 for you.

your visa restricts u from doctor in training jobs. U can do all other normal jobs once u have licence.

when u say u have completed undergrad and FY1, which country is that? have u completed at least 3 months in surgery and 3 months in medicine?

once u have cleared all exams, u can apply for normal doctor jobs, and can work with no restrictions on dependent visa.
u can apply for training, and if u get one, NHS can sponsor u and u will have ur own tier 2 visa, but will apply from your home country.

Thank you for that detailed response. However, I have a few more queries. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by normal jobs? Does that mean I can get a license in UK and practice as a doctor (after clearing the exam, of course) despite it being mentioned on the visa that i cannot? Also, how easy is it to get a training job in UK? Do they prefer doctors already on a visa that allows them to work without any restrictions(such as spouse visa) and is it normal practice for NHS to sponsor people on Tier 2 visa or are these exceptional?
And, yes Iv done my undergrad and house job from Pakistan. Iv completed six months in medicine and allied and six months in surgery and allied.

since u have done house job in pakistan and comply with min 3 months of medicine and surgery, u should be ok to apply for a licence to practice once u have cleared both parts of Plab exams. I would recomend to visit GMC website which gives detailed explanation and information on what to do and expect.

Training jobs are like specializations, other jobs are like trust SHO.. these are normal doctors in various departments in hospitals here. So once u have the licence to practice, u can apply for these jobs.

Training jobs are hard to find and depend on number of things like what specialisation u are applying, where u live, and how u have developed your portfolio once u have started working here.. u need to apply for training in November for the positions starting the following years in August. NHS normally prefers to allocate the training positions to British +Europeans, then people who dont have restriction and then if all the seats are not filled, these are allocated to Non -EU personnel like yourself. Once this happens, they can get you a visa, which is not a big deal for most of the trusts.
