Single application made on 27th of May and I'm still waiting

This is the guidance from https://www.gov.uk/english-language:

"You’ll need to prove your degree was both:

* taught or researched in English
* confirmed by UK NARIC as the equivalent of a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in the UK

You’ll need your original degree certificate and one of the following:

* a printout from the points-based calculator with the equivalent level of your degree and the level of English
*an original letter or certificate from UK NARIC confirming the equivalent level of your degree, plus an official letter from your university with your name and degree confirming that your degree was taught in English
*an original and official certificate from your university confirming the degree was taught or researched in a majority English-speaking country (except Canada)"

So if the PBS calculator says that it's equivalent to NARIC, then it should be fine.

I dont understand the meaning of joint application.

Still it is separate application fees which they charge, but the letter i received from HO states for both. Some ncs charge one fee for both whereas some charge separate.

I hope they would just want to see my original degree certificate only for verification, if pbs is not acceptable, why would one mention as one of the choices in the guidelines, also if somebody goes via naric, you still need to submit your university letter headed stating english as medium of instruction,

The Home Office use NARIC to calculate whether an applicant has a
qualification equivalent to a UK Bachelor Degree, Masters or PhD in the PBS.

Is it normal for HO to ask original degree certificate for verification or else is it just me who got unlucky?

85 days and still waiting I have to say it's a very bad service for the amount of money they charge!!

your application is very similar to mines and timeline is about the same so we should hear back around the same time

Same boat as you - 6th May Joint Applicant. Still waiting to hear from the Home Office. Get the usual BS (please wait 6 months; application is under consideration etc.)

Not to worry. This week there's been movement in some cases on May 1st week. Hopefully we will hear soon within 2 weeks.
