The HO asks you not to make any travel
Arrangements during this period. They say it will take them 6 months. Give them that time and then complain if it is not dealt with in 6 months.

@ shanam. It might be possible to get an extension so that you can attend your ceremony after your trip. See 6.11.22.5 in https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... apter6.pdf. From reading the document a six month trip is probably on the upper bounds of what they will tolerate as "any absence of 6 months or longer may affect the applicant's ability to meet the future intentions requirement". Good luck

Thanks Mike_K. May be something to look into if approvals for May applicants don't start coming through more quickly soon. My trip is just under 6 months actually- to fit into requirements ;) thanks. Otherwise may have to delay it (don't want to risk asking for an extension of time to atend ceremony)

The Home office received my application on 15/05/14. I just called the home office and they said that my application in with a caseworker and he Sent me a letter today which I should receive in few days asking me to send evidence of residency for my first year in the UK which is from May2009 till August 2010 because my current passport covers the period from sep 2010 ( the first passport I used to enter the UK was lost in 2010 abroad. The confusing thing is that I sent a letter from college but the guy from home office told me the case worker wants to see alternative evidence

Dear All,

My wife has made a naturalization application via NCS on 13th May 2014. we have also received an acknowledgement receipt of payment being processed from her account of £906.00 on 22nd May 2014. Then after we have not had any update on her application.
we have wrote to the address:

UK Border Agency
Nationality Group
PO Box 306
Liverpool
L2 0QN

on 11th August 2014 but have not heard anything yet,

we have also sent an email : "ukbanationalityenquiries@ukba.gsi.gov.uk" on 20th Aug 2014 but still not had any response on the status of the application.

Reading through to the guidance notes, it says if you have not attended the ceremony in 90 days from the date of the issue of the letter you will have to apply again!

so I am curious (I know it;s not been full 6months from the date of an application) if we have lost the letter in the post and we have never received it, what if you go pass that 90 days of time...

can some one please help on any specific telephone number to contact for the application status?

thank you for your help in advance,

Regards
MVP

You are worrying for nothing mate..
Dont panic that you have lost it.
As you applied on 13th May.. your applicaiton will be under consideration.
contact this ph number 0300 123 2253 . Early first week of May applications are getting through at the moment. Wair for another couple of weeks or more.

On the ackowledgement letter you are asked to contact this email ID
NationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk not UKBA..

When you drop an email.. u will be sent an automatic email and if that doesnt answer go to 16th point in the email and drop an email and wait for atleast 4 weeks to find answer..

Eligibility criteria: EEA National - PR holder, Spouse of British Citizen
Language criteria met: ESOL Skills for Life & Life in The UK test
Current nationality: Polish
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Camden
Date of application: 02 May 2014
Payment method: Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 06 May 2014
Date of acknowledgement: mid May 2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: late May 2014
Date approval received: 29 August 2014, letter dated 18 August 2014
Date of ceremony: To be booked.

This was a straight forward application according to the lady at Camden. My advice to EEA nationals would be to take the time to get PR first and then it simplifies the further process. Thanks for all the information provided in this forum. This is a great service. To those waiting - as difficult as it is - just realise that it might take 4-5 months to get a response at their current rate of processing.

chrisonzen - I applied for PR as an EU national exercising Treaty rights over a five year period. Once I got the PR confirmed, I applied immediately for citizenship based on marriage to UK citizen. Otherwise I would have had to wait 12 months to apply for citizenship.

The total will be 6 years before you can apply. 5 years on EEA family permit plus 1 year on permanent residence card.
