Would you know when to commence tracking the OCI Application submitted. I submitted my application in London on the 05th Sept 14.

I tried to track, but comes up with them asking some weird questions.

Thank you

I had sent a mail to fs(dot)coord@hcilondon(dot)in enquiring about the delay in OCI application from Birmingham. Got a replay stating that the mail has been forwarded to the concerned department.

Strangely while returning home from work in the evening i got a phone call from CGI Birmingham, the lady on the phone told me that my application has been granted on 4th September and waiting for the OCI from Delhi.

Oci tracking system still show my status as under progress, strange!. :!:

Waiting continues........

Finally my immigration journey comes to an end with the delivery of OCI + passports today afternoon.
Thanks to everyone who helped me :)
For those of you planning to apply for OCI, please send your application to HCI London, even if you live in Birmingham.
I applied at CGI BHM and it took one month extra for the whole process (you will see extra time taken at every step, even for returning the passport :( )

Seeing the response for those who had sent there application to London, iam cursing myself for sending it to Birmingham. Mine was acknowledged on 30th July but still not response. Don’t know what to do .

Mailed Birmingham, they are telling me that my application was granted on 4th September, but status on the tracking website still shows under progress. Really confused.

Write to them that you are the tracking system are saying contradictory things! They have to give you a straight response as you will have to send them your passport and you cant unless the online system says that. They need to work on upgrading their system and also updating their processes!

Do not worry. you sent it effectively 3 working days before me. I sent on 4th August in London. Mine has just been processed. Since you sent to Birmingham, no way yours can be processed on 4th September.

Just wait, may be another 2 weeks for Birmingham.

Hi,

If I have to send multiple passports for the family members to CGI, Birmingham by special delivery for OCI endorsement, can it be sent together in one envelope? Similarly do I need to attach separate envelopes for each family member?

Thanks for guiding.

You can send in one envelope and send only one return envelope.

Very clearly written in website.

Hi guys wondering if u can shed any light on this. I sent mother in law passport for transfer of visa as she got new passport on 8th august 2014. When I check online it says no record found. I emailed them last week and they
emailed back saying Pl. wait. we are waiting for printing of your sticker in India. As soon as they will print it, will be update online.

I checked today and still nothing. Does it really take this long???
Thanks

Have u submitted the OCI in person or by post at London. I m thinking of pressing the panic button as I got flights to India on 15 Oct. Also got caught up with UK passport delays even though I thought I ll have 5 months to get all necessary travel arrangement ready for visiting India.

Is there any point with asking embassy staff to consider my case as urgent as my travel arrangement is coming up.

thanks

Submitted mine in-person on 28th Aug 2014 at London. I see the process has slowed down compared to Jun-14 applications.

I have submitted in person one day before him and my timeline is exactly one day before him and other guy who applied same day 4th August like me, has all timelines exactly matching mine.

It is very consistent unlike naturalisation when people applying same day may receive approval at a gap of 6 or more months.

There is no urgent treatment for OCI. Absolutely clear guideline in this case. In case of urgency apply for visitor visa. If i was you, i will wait till this Month end and if the status is still not processed in DELHI, apply for visit visa immediately.

I had 4 OCI applications with CGI BHM, I only sent 1 SD envelope with 4 British Passports and included only one SD envelope for the return of 4 passports + 4 OCI cards. All came back together :)
