Finally....good news! Received our BRPs today. :D

Application type: Set O (Tier 1 Gen) with 5 dependants
Applied on: 14th March 2014 (by post)
No settlement service checks, no lawyers involved
Biometrics done after about a month
Sent request letter to expedite: in June and in August
Local MP also wrote them, on 19th August
BRP received: today, 19th September 2014
Documents: expecting tomorrow or next week

Took 6 months! It was a nightmare and I wish I didn't have to go through this. Just want to forget this and get into regular life (it was literally on hold for the last 6 months)!!! Good luck to everyone on the boat!!

Hi everyone,

I don't even know where to start with my situation.
Got 3 applications rejected as invalid now I'm an overstayer and had to spend money with solicitor to write me a representation letter to attach to my application basically begging them to consider it, as the circumstances which led me to the situation that I am in at the moment were out of my control.
So fingers crossed this time it goes all smoothly! I was wanting to use the Premium Service, however HO told me I'm not eligible to use this service anymore for the fact that I'm overstayer and this makes my application non-straight forward.
Apart from the fact my visa expired and I didn't manage to lodge my application successfully, my application is pretty much straight forward.

Hello fbutt09,

My case is exactly like yours, I am residing in UK since April 2012 and my husband works abroad who is a British National, he took up an overseas job in August 2012 and has been visiting UK every two months for 2-3 weeks. We did not take any help from a lawyer and submitted my SET (M) application by post on 31st May 2014. We are nervous as my husband has not maintained residency in this country like you. We provided all evidence requested, including evidence of communication during the period my husband was not in UK. If you were contacted by HO, I am sure I will be contacted too. Please do update me with your timeline of when you got request of further information from HO etc. And since we did not use a lawyer do you think our case will not be taken very seriously and be refused ??

Please advise.

Thanks
Bini

fbutt09 wrote:Hi guys,

It's been a while since I last posted.

Just to let you know my wife received her ILR yesterday. We submitted via a lawyer as our case was complicated.

I work overseas and my wife resides in the UK. So there was a bit of nervousness on our part. Nevertheless we managed to get the BRP.

I will try to post the exact timeline dates but just so you have a rough idea we submitted our application on 20th April 2014. So roughly four months and two weeks to get our reply.

Also as I said, due to our case being somewhat complicated we received a clarification letter from the HO asking about my employment in a bit more detail. I replied to their questions and provided additional evidence.

Nevertheless all is well that ends well. Hopefully now apply for her British Passport in Feb 2015.

I wish all those waiting all the best. It can certainly be nerve racking. Have patience and hang in there.

Take care.

Hi All,

Just called home office. My SET (O) application sent on 13th May is still not processed :( Also, they said my application was recorded in their system on 31stMay2014. I am not sure what do they mean by this as I had used a next day delivery post.
May be my fees were confirmed by 31st May.

Good thing was - I got connected in a minute or so. Looks like my application may take another couple of weeks!!

Cheers

Dear all,

I have been a silent reader of this forum for a few months now. I really appreciate all the information that you have provided. I have phoned the Home Office this morning and they said that they are still processing SET(O) applications from April. That explains why some of you SET(M) applicants have already had your ILR granted. I applied on 13th May. The gentleman on the phone said that for SET(O) applications there is an average of 6 months wait... I am sorry not to be the bearer of good news.

Let's keep strong! If any of you gets anymore information, please share! And good luck to all of us.

Hi

Any set o May applicants receiving response.

I would like to request the person who is updating google drive to update my records

Set o applied on 23may and biometric done on 13 June. If you could also segregate between SET O and SET M applications, that would be great if possible.

I have updated google drive with your information. The data for SET(LR), SET(O) and SET(M) is segregated, right at the top of the google drive page you will see SET(LR), SET(O) and SET(M) in blue font, just click on the required field.

Thank you for letting us know. I was beginning to worry seeing as people who applied on SET(LR) around the same time as me have already received their ILR.

Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah finally the day came..

SET (O) ILR (Tier1 Gen)
Received 22-09-2014 approval letter from HO with documents issued date 19-09-2014. It took 4 month 2 weeks and 2 days
Application Date : 06-05-2014
Biometrics done : 18-06-2014
Approval with Documents return : 19-09-2014
BRP received : 26-09-2014

NB : My case was different, I came late UK 101 days after 1st visa issued due to the reason i was not went to PEO. Most of them suggested i should go for another extension and also HO help line were suggested i need extensions.
1st grand date : 17-03-2009
UK entry date : 28-06-2009 (101 days delay)
Extension given up to 09-05-2014 (If i count backward i am short 45 days and forward 101 days)
For ILR i can only Apply within 28 days before.. so either way i can’t go to PEO.

That’s why I tried with by post and Alhamdulillah its granted by HO.

Why i am giving this scenario as i know like me so many people’s are facing this issue how they should go for. I know it will take time to get back the decision from HO but you will be save from another extension as per my experience.
I think it will be helpful for everyone.

I am a silent reader of this forum and its really helpful from this forum..

Thanks every one for your valuable feedback every time.
