Am I eligible for Naturalisation ?

Post by Double V » Tue Oct 14, 2014 10:40 am

Hello Amber or other gurus.

Could you please help me and tell me if i am eligible to apply in this month.

I came to UK on 02/10/2011 on Spouse visa.
I got ILR granted on 13/12/2013.

Now do I have to actually wait til 13/12/2014 to apply for naturalisation or can i apply on 29/10/2014 as at NCS there is a slot.
Dont want to waste the fee.
And if i apply now on 29/10/2014, and going back I was physically present on 29/10/2011.

This is so confusing.
Please help.

Many thanks

If you are spouse of british citizen then yes you can apply now as you have completed 3 years of residency.

You could have applied after you 3 years residence if married to a British Citizen, so yes, you can apply if NCS has a slot on 29th October.

Bear in mind that the date you need to have been physically present in the UK is the date that HO receives your application, not NCS.
