Naturalisation Certificate Queries

I have got my naturalisation certificate yesterday –at last!

I am wondering if someone could please advise on following notes:

1. I will be applying for the passport now so wondering if I will get naturalisation certificate back? As I will need
it for my wife’s application later.

2. For child born in UK, does HO return naturalisation certificate back when sent with passport application? I
can not remember receiving it back when my child passport arrived!!

Naturalisation Certifcate is for you to keep and tell the world that you are British from this date onwards (In case if you dont want British passport). HO would return that to you after doing the checks that you are the same person who is applying for the British Passport.

In childs case, they return it along with the previous country passport if applicable or only the naturalisation certificate.

When I applied for first british/ ever passport for my uk born kid I sent the naturalisation certificate but never got it back. Is this normal?

You should have received your certificate back. If you have not, you should contact the passport office urgently.

When did you apply for your childs British Passport??
