Naturalisation Form referees

Hi

I am completing the AN form and wanted to know if my boyfriend can be one of my referees. I already have a professional referee and my boyfriend is a british citizen and meets all the criteria. My only doubt is that it says the referee must not be related to you. Would my boyfriend be considered a relative and therefore not be able to act as a referee?

I believe if you have mentioned your boyfriend as your partner in the form then he cannot be your referee.
