For those who haven'nt seen the published Naturalization processing timelines in 2013 (Jan-Sep) by Home Office.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ember-2013

More than 90% of the applications were approved :)

Thanks Phani_9

So 165000 applications in 6 months. It means on average 27000 placation each month.

As we can see, in our forums we have about 80 applications per months on average. So our number in the forum is just 0.3 percent (it means less than 1 percent) of the total applications that the HO receives.

Return of documents

Post by jabajaw » Sun Nov 09, 2014 10:19 pm

Please can someone advise how long it takes for UKBA to return documents once they have been requested for online. I applied on 31/07/2014 (postal), still waiting for a response. We are travelling overseas during the last two weeks of December and need to plan my request for return of documents.
Please also advise online link to request for return of documents.
Many Thanks

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the home office?

Thank you
Hi Lucy,

allegedly their phone number is 0300 123 2253, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm in the same boat as you (EU citizen, been in the UK for 10 years, just not married). I applied on 16 June if I remember correctly. I got some form of letter from them confirming that they had received my application but my payment had bounced, I then re-sent payment (which was accepted) and I haven't heard from them since. You can email them on ukbanationalityenquiries@ukba.gov.uk, but all you'll get is some automated reply providing links that won't help you.

Best of luck with your application.

Those of you who have had approvals already, do you know if referees are always contacted or not? My referees have still not been contacted, and I applied on 2 June via NCS ...

My qualifying criteria: EEA national in the country for 10+ years, working legally for 5, since finishing studies, and married to BC for 7, but NO ILR, which seems to be a terrible black mark). Needless to say, I still haven't heard anything, and as post has been and gone today, today isn't the day either. I'm starting to wonder if they are blacklisting EEA nationals, and really regretting giving them £1k of my money, when they are already getting enough through mine and my husband's taxes...

In most cases they dnt contact referees. They only contact referees if they need more information about you.

Unfortunately there is no 'joint application' system for naturalisation (anymore!).. Each application is processed separately irrespective of whether you are applying for self or self+partner (i.e. £906 per application submitted).
In my case (self + spouse) I paid £1812 (£906 + £906).. Hope this helps!

BTW if you are applying by post, you can send both your applications in a single 'special delivery' envelope; and if you are applying via NCS you need to book/pay for two appointments (self and partner).

I applied on 8th of July as a spouse of a BC . Over 4 months now still no news. Hoping for good result if they grab my application from the bottom of the pile within 6 months period. :(

Date of application: 31/07/2014
Date of receipt by UKBA: 01/08/2014 (By checking Royal mail Track and Trace)
Date of debit of fees: 12/08/2014
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 15/08/2014

I was lucky to get the ceremony early and places were available. I ringed the council immediately after I came back from the holidays and seeing the approval letter.
Thanks for the forum contributors. Good luck to all who have applied and waiting for their approval.
I'll post my updates on the Passport section of the forum.

Hi All,

I have recieved my letter confirming that my application for British Citizenship has been approved and I have my Oath ceremony booked for next week. Can you please let me know what the next steps are and how I can apply for a British passport or is there a thread with this information?

Thanks and regards,

v2rfrendz
