Hi there,

What details of grandparents are you supposed to provide with your application for first adult passport through naturalisation?

I didn't include these details as it's marked as an (X) on the table and when I tried to submit my application today through check & send I was told I need to provide my grandparents details.

The booklet states that they require your grandparents birth certificates & marriage certificates as your claim to British nationality. Obviously as my application is naturalisation, this doesn't apply.

We are waiting for me to receive the invitation letter, so I can go with my husband.

I just got my(wife) supporting documents, but still no invitation letter, hope for tomorrow

Date of receipt of interview letter: 15/11/2014 (for both together)
Date of Passport Appointment: 21/11/2014 (we booked bit late as we were busy whole week)

Date of Passport Receipt: 25/11/2014 (passport validity is from the date of interview)

Good luck to everyone who are waiting. My only advice is keep documents simple and logical. Explain if you can't submit anything. I didnt faced any issues with HO in all these years because of all the moderators of this group and few virtual friends whom I met in this forum(they provided lots of insights and dos and donts). I never used any lawyer or took help from anyone apart from this forum. Keep up the good work.

Hi All
I've applied for 2 minors first passport on 11th November 2014.
SMS received on 17th
since then nothing.
However, counter signatory just received a letter dated 17th November about verification of those 2 applications. All signed and send back to concern department on a letter headed paper (as requested)
Do anyone else have came across same and also how long the passport will take after all this done.

i sent my application 6 days ago through post office check and send. i didn't get any SMS confirmation, i called the passport office yesterday and they told me they literally just got my application as we spoke. (i thought it was next day delivery...)

do they normally look at the application straight away or i'm in a queue?

something just came up and i need to travel abroad next friday for the weekend, is it ok to ask them to send me back my old passport? will this delay my application? or do they normally cancel the application and make people re-apply?

When you use check and send, some post offices don't send applications straight away. The send them in bulk which is cheaper. Another reason I don't like using check and send.

Not sure about the documents but I guess it won't hurt asking them.
