Got my passport on Saturday 13th Dec - applied on the same day as my (private) ceremony - 28th of November. So that's about 15 days in total which is fairly impressive.

Very pleased to have applied for naturalisation on 23 Oct (my timeline is somewhere in this thread) and to have received my passport before Christmas - less than 2 months total. I was expecting to wait until at least January next year...

Good luck to everyone else!

So I called my council for the citizenship ceremony.
Lady filled all my details and told me it will take a week before I hear anything from them regarding the available date.
And I chose Chicester & Crawley (first available).

I hope they send me a sooner one.

PS: I only received approval letter from Home Office, but it does say invitation to ceremony and book it with local council with council details. etc.

HI Double V,

Did you get an email from HO for feedback?
I have applied start of October from NCS Crawley and still waiting. Just want to know if they send Feedback soon as they make a decision.

Thanks

The most important

Write down the application number which you can find on the right side corner. Without that you cannot ask the any update of the process!

Hi

Yes I did receive an email about the feedback.
And 2 days after I received my actual approval in the post.

So if you have received an email regarding survey then expect a brown envelope with approval letter by post in the next 1-2 days. :)

It's on its way.

I got a letter instead of email (perhaps they mixed 079 to O79 (zero to O) is common confusion) so I tried web link that didnt take me anywhere, because the letter they sent me was rubbish and photocopied sideways.

Will try to go to link today as well.

They take so much money in terms of fee and use such rubbish paper. Not even recycled paper.
I don't know what kind of paper that is and on top of that the printing is horrible.

Yes but that's "official stationery" for you, everywhere. :) Cheap quality third rate paper, but worth a fortune!

Yes, and please request two, I collected only one and made a mistake and had to go again. Luckily my boss is my referee this time so signing again wasn't a problem.

I just realised that my place of birth mentioned in the certification (as well the approval letter) has a missing letter. The place of birth goes like this.

Place and country of birth: <town-name> <state-name>, <country-name>

The <state-name> mentioned is missing a letter in it. I had just provided the <town-name> in my naturalisation application. But they have copied it from my passport and while doing so they missed a letter. It's like "N" is missing from KARNATAKA.

Questions:
1. Do you think I need to send it for correction before applying for the passport?
2. If I look at the passport application, it only talks about <town-name>. Mention only <town-name> and forget the state?
3. Enter the town of birth as: <town-name> <state-name> by adding the missing letter "N" in passport application?
4. Enter the town of birth as: <town-name> <state-name> with missing letter "N" in passport application?

Please advice. Thanks.
