Urgent Treatment Form - FLR - Does it work?

Post by sam1000s » Sat Sep 01, 2007 9:46 pm

I've sent an Urgent Treatment Form(FLR) stating my
personal reason to visit back home urgently...

Will that form really work?
Do they really respond on it?

How long do I need to wait to get the response,
once I faxed that form?

Please reply on this....
Thanks in advance[/i]

It can work, but it must be a VERY serious reason. I've only really got it done once, and that was due to a parent about to die, and with medical letters proving it.

Thanks for those replies...

@Victoria

I've sent the fax on Friday, so far they haven't replied
...does that mean ...my form isn't considered?

If it's really urgent, call them up and ask, they will normally be able to tell you whether it's accepted or not. Bear in mind though that it seems to go into some sort of queue before it is even looked at and this may take a day or too. Again if it is really urgent and you explain this to them on the phone they will generally try to expedite it.

In my experience, faxes to Croydon don't get looked at. You will need to send a letter by recorded delivery.

Thanks again Victoria...

Mine is FLR (IED), on that Urgent Treatment Form they have
given just the fax number, no postal address over there...

Are you applying for extension of your HSMP visa? If you are, then you do indeed need to fax the form in and in my experience they do look at it and respond to phone calls regarding same.

My apologies...I did not realise this was FLR (IED). Is there an urgent treatment form for work permits? I am not sure there is, I thought that was only for HSMP.

I used this form a few years ago, I was on a work permit at the time. My reasons for hurrying it along were pretty flimsy - I had a stag do to go to abroad. I faxed stating reason as holiday (I think) on the form and had my passport back a few days later.

Victoria
Indeed there is an application form for Urgent Treatment for WP.

Look at these two links:
This is a link to the form itself:

lol. I'm glad some people at the Home Office have their priorities straight.

Seriously though, it shows that it might be worth trying...

The immigration system is vastly more efficent now than it was a few years ago!
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.

Hello sam,

I have tried it in the past 3 times and it has worked.

You need to call HO and tell them that you are faxing the form straight away. Give them a call next day. If they say they haven't received it yet, fax them again.

Make sure you give a good reason. I had applied for Urgent treatment with 'medical emrgencies' and 'change of job' and it has worked.

Keep the faith and keep trying. Good luck.

Regards,
Sachin

@Sachin
Thanks for the reply...

I've phoned them and they told me its progressing...

I faxed the urgent form on 31st Aug...

I made for 'medical reasons' to visit my family back home ASAP...

Also I was told that I might get the Passport within next week....

Is that the time frame they work on the Urgent Form?

How long was that on your cases?

In my case it was normally 1 or 2 days.
