Changing from 10 years route to ILR to 5 years route to ILR

A friend was given 30 months leave to remain ( 10 years route to ILR). Is it possible to change it to 5 years route to ILR in the Uk b4 the expiration of the 30 months LTR,if all conditions are met?
Plz your advice will be appreciated.

yes you can unless its a private life. What were the basis of your application?
