Ireland visa

Post by Kayalami » Fri Apr 02, 2004 10:00 am

Elfa,

Hope you can help - a friend has applied for an Irish visit visa through their London consulate. She is the spouse of a British Citizen and is on her 2 year initial visa. The consulate have asked her to provide a letter from employer and confirmation of accomodation which are in themselves not a problem for her. However I have advised her that AFAIK these requirements as well as that of proof of resources/funds are not applicable to EU spouses applying for visit visa's to any other member state under some aspect of the treaty laws. Perhaps this only applies to the Schengen scheme as I know visa officials here routinely wave away details of finance, travel and accomodation arrangements where proferred by EU spouses.

Regards
