Reading registry office lady told me I need to phone the NCS I used (Newbury) to book ceremony.

I told her no, the form states that unless I put down a different local authority to have my ceremony, by default, I will go to my local authority for my ceremony (which is Reading). She kept telling me she's never heard of that before. Maybe I misread or maybe it's a new rule. I said to her it is on the form plus the lady at the other NCS told me the same thing. PLUS the approval letter shows where I'll have my ceremony - which is Reading!

Still, I phoned the Newbury office and they confirmed what I was saying. I phoned Reading again and she seemed rude and unwilling to admit that she knows not what she is talking about

In the end, I said ..ok as we're going around in circles. Apparently the lady who does the bookings are away  The will not be back until the end of the week  AND ceremony bookings are getting full so it's looking more like MAY for me

I wish I'd sign up to have my ceremony at Newbury. The hassle isn't over. Ceremony ..then passport.

You need to wait for your invitation letter. In that letter you will be given the correct phone number where you need to make the booking.
I know you are excited but wait till that letter arrives
Just a tad bit eager loool

I'll wait. :)

Instead of guessing, since this is thread where my wife's timeline is, I will be updating this thread as well, so we all know percentages/ideas of approvals etc. It should be a fun little project.

Is everyone getting both emails and written letters? I've only received the acknowledgement letter, I didn't receive an email (even checked the spam folder just in case) and I had included my email address on the application form.

NO. Not everyone gets both. I have never received any email but as you could have seen it earlier my husband did. So no worries!

There is no logic in who gets email confirmation vs those who gets written correspondence vs those who gets both. For long as youu fall in either of those 3 scenarios, you're sound (as pound!) :)

Weird! I would have expected the immigration place would be a tyrant for doing exactly the same thing for each application and would send emails to everyone..... but then again... I did read a month or two back that someone was initially granted citizenship who even stated in their application that they didn't qualify. LOL I believe it was revoked, if I remember correctly.

Prolly coz in certain scenarios basis of your non qualification falls under discretion (presuming you've met all other criteria).

Lol - too early for my area! Dont know if this stat/conclusion stands much scrutiny but apparently those who've made joint applications, usually leg behind when compared to those single. I am on the former, so I might be holding on for a bit :-)
