Congrats, SallyW. I think Rakeysh & Tulip applied on the same day as well i.e., 3rd of March. It's a 'Laserline' for them.

Congratulations SallyW! Let's hope Tulip's and Rakesh's approvals will follow swiftly. (And mine  , but they have two weeks on me so I'll gladly let them go first.)

Congratulations to those who received their approvals in the last couple days! To be honest, I have been avoiding this board as I think it's turning me completely OCD! As I applied on the 3rd March, I'm hopeful that the approval letter will be dropped into my letter box soon! Tulip11 I hope you get yours soon too!

I just got my acknowledgement letter and was wondering if its general that they put where relevant to your application you do not enrol your biometric fingerprints.. this was one of the key points. Is this a new form of letter? Or has it always been like that? I applied on 24th of March so this was before the new form changes

I also had mention of biometric stuff in my letter. I'm hoping it's just their updated letters but doesn't apply to those of us who applied before the fee increase...

Nationality: Czech
Application service used: NCS Newbury
Documents: Life in UK test and Level 3 ESOl
Date of Application: 27th March 2015
Date of receipt by UKBA: 31st March 2015
Date of fees: still waiting impatiently :-)
Date of acknowledgement: waiting

Looking at some of prople timeline and few of you have applied at the same day and have their fees dropt, made me thing I may wait even longer to my fees to be dropt...

I applied from same place (Newbury) and on same date. My fees has not been taken yet. Keep me updated! I am thinking to call HO to confirm the receipt of application..... And to see if there was an attempt to take the fees....

Random question. Once granted citizenship, do you HAVE to get a British passport right away or at all?

I'm not in the position to get one for a while. We literally scraped the barrel to just get citizenship sorted and paid for, so getting my British passport currently isn't a high priority.

Not doing so won't void my naturalisation when I get it, will it?

No, it's not required. Most people apply for it soon, as they have travel plans. But it's certainly not a requirement that you must get one.
