Pervious Earnings Calculation, a quick question.

Post by tier1app » Sun May 10, 2015 12:07 am

Hi all,

A very quick question regarding pervious earning calculation, is it based on the days which you worked or on the date you were paid?
so say, if you worked from 1st through to 15th of May and was paid on the 23rd of May, can I include this payment on the 23rd if my 12 months goes from 23-May-14 to 22-May-15? or it has to start from the 1st of May?

(Hope I am making sense)

Thanks

No clear answer in guidelines, in another post(sorry can't remember which one) someone answered it's based on date paid.

Thanks all, so it means I can also claim salary received after the calculation period as long as it was made with in that 12 month period?

You can claim point for earnings if salary falls in one calender year.

e.g 26th June 2014 - 25th June 2015.

sorry there is a typo, i was trying to ask if I can claim point for the income made between the 1st to the 25th of Jun but paid after 25th, i.e. the 30 of June, given people are suggestion it is based on the days worked.

Hi,

Technically the word employment earnings should be for the days you should work for. e.g if you are paid on 24th of month A for the period from 1 to 31 of that month then that amount will still be the salary for 31 days for the month A. and if that payment made next month say 2nd of next month, then again will be for that 31 days of previous month.

Salary should be accounted as on accrual basis (considering no credit risk involved in payments made by employer). and not on recipt basis.

IMHO you should be fine.
