Opening a bank account locally

Hi,

I'm in London on a tier 2 dependent visa and I have a query. U need to open a bank account locally so that I can transact on it (plan to use it to receive freelancer payments, pay tax as required required, and use it to spend online /debits etc. What is a good bank in terms of interest rate, support, fees, and ease of access online?

What are the documents I'll need to show at the time of opening the account?
