Entire process from beginning to end was just over 2 weeks. Very impressed by how quickly it took. Keep up the good work UK Passport Office!!

Hi there, here is my timeline... Does it really take this long to get a letter from HMPO?...

Passport for: Adult
Application Type: First Adult (Naturalised Citizen)
Method of application: Check & Send
Date of application: 14/05/2015
Date application received by HMPO: 18/05/2015 - called to check, no text message sent
Date of work address confirmation letter: 18/05/2015 - if only Post Office clerk told me, I would not bother asking to send it to work! It has been 9 days, no sign of it still! 2nd Class doesn't take that long!?

Just chill.. It takes up to 6 weeks to get your first passport.

So I guess the HMPO includes some sort of allowance for delays into the 6 weeks period?
I can see the average for people here is 3-4 weeks.

I guess so.

Mine took 3 weeks to arrive... They are getting busier now as summer holidays are approaching and everyone is renewing their passports and whatnot.

Hi, I have a question regarding the supporting documents for the new passport after naturalisation.

It is mentioned in the application that I need to send all uncancelled passports. I have an EU passport and also an EU identity card, and I can use both to enter the UK. Do I need to send the passport or is the ID good enough? Or is the form referring only to uncancelled british passports?

Send what they asking for ...Passport. I have the same like you and sent yesterday the application with my passport.

Send what they asking for ...Passport. I have the same like you and sent yesterday the application with my passport.

I just need to travel on my passport quite often within the next few months so this would delay my application for a passport until end of the year. Was trying to figure out if there is a way around it.

Send what they asking for ...Passport. I have the same like you and sent yesterday the application with my passport.

The rules say send passport and not ID so you have to allow yourself around 6 weeks of no travel to wait for UK passport to be issued. But given there will be a pile up of applications (new and renewals) leading to summer holidays, you may have to make a decision of applying now or later. There is a premium and fast track service but not available for first UK adult passport.

Hi All,

I was on ILR last year (got ILR after 5years on tier 1) but i got the British citizenship and British Passport now after 1 year on ILR.

my wife is still on tier 1 dependent visa which will expire in 2017...when she will need ONE more ext on tier 1 dependent visa...to complete 5years to qualify for ILR..correct?

what are the best OPTIONS...as i am british citizen now

... should she wait till 2017 when her tier 1 dependent visa expire ...AND apply for another tier 1 dependent visa extension....???

... Or is there any other option (as I have become British citizen now )??

PLEASE ADVISE.

Processing time was 15 working days (3 weeks), from the receipt of documentation to dispatch of the passport.

Hi All,
