It will all depend on whether the employment is an effective and genuine activity as well as be verifiable on caseworker enquiry. In now a days according to UK benefits system an employment involving 24 hours/£150 per week is considered effective & genuine.

Thanks Sheraz for ur response , As long as EEA national is qualified with 18hours/week employment , I am satisfied regarding effectiveness of employment and verification of work by employer as its all genuine. It was just No of hours work and NI and PAYE eduction is zero , which makes me worried.

By the way what is the mode of verification by caseworker with employer , via phone ? Email or in writing?

Normally a single rapid phone call from caseworker. However, it is always wiser to give very accurate employer contact details and best is to inform the employer in advance regarding such enquiry.

I really appreciate your time in replying Sheraz...

Yes We have informed the Employer about possible verification by HO but Can case worker not check with HMRC to check about employment as HMRC would have the proper record of employee.

And what If they unable to get hold of employer by phone. Wouldnt they email or write to Employer as address of working place and email is mentioned on letter head confirming the employment.

Its just over 2 months I have applied for SET(LR) covering 3.5 years on EEA2 in total of 10 years.
I am just worried as I havent heard anything from HO since my Biometric (25/04/15) submitted.
And finally 2nd Email on 22/05/15 stating application is being considered.

Was there any NI or PAYE deduction in ur wages as in 18 hours no tax is being deducted at all.
