Alhamdulillaah, finally I got my invitation letter this morning and the letter dated on 09/07/2015.
the ceremony date will be on 29/07/2015 : )

Hi Bestshow,

Did you get invitation straight from the council or HO? And how long did it take to receive invitation after the initial approval?

the invitation letter is sent from HO, it took about 10 days after receiving the approval letter on 07.07.2015
the invitation letter is dated on 09.07.2015

Guys,

I was recently asked for my degree certs which i have sent to them. I am hoping the letter to come soon however, I have travel plans and will be away for a month. what happens if they fail to deliver to me as i am not at home? will i be able to ask them to resend? Also i hear if you don't book your ceremony within time (dont know exactly) then HO declare it refused and you have to reapply?

anyone knows anything about it? or shall i call and ask them?

no need to worry you have 3 months to attend the ceremony.

Hi,
I receive my decision dated 22nd June. The letter said I will receive Invitation letter within two weeks and do not contact with council. I contact with council but they don not have my certificate also I have not got any invitation letter from HO now more then two weeks. the letter said if not receive invitation letter within two weeks email citizenship support (email written there) but no reply of email as well. It seems another wait start just for invitation letter. How many people are waiting just for invitation letter ?

Took exactly 5 months.

Received my ceremony invitation today on 20th July 2015 dated 10th July 2015. I have also received an invitation from the council too. Good luck to those who are still waiting.

Couple of weeks ago I asked for my documents back. They sent them back with my approval

The ceremony letter was from Home Office asking me to call my local council. I gave them a ring and booked in a private ceremony as group one was going to be a month later.

I have received a letter from HO asking for proof of my English Qualification and previous passports, Don't know y!
I mean what's the point for paying Extra at NCS , waiting for so long and now they are asking the same Docs back while lady at NCS copied each and everything. Really can not under stand, and I am fed up of Govt. Agencies and their way of work anyway. so what's coming next then ?

I have sent those desired documents (Originals, except LIUK pass cert.) through special delivery now, after reading a similar post in this Feb Timeline. This forum is really helpful. Let c what happens now as Time is moving fast but Royal Mail van is much slower

Is this the normal waiting time--going on 6 months--for a UK citizenship request? I'm a 54 year-old US citizen, retired woman with no criminal history, etc. your average ordinary housewife I included all appropriate paperwork including my mother's ancient passports from the 1950s, birth certs with seals, my own (current) US Passport, referree letters by two bonafide and exemplary characters, etc. etc. I'm a bit concerned because I have a 2-month cruise lined up end of September and this is cutting it a bit close for the return of my US passport!

1 question plz. I'm waiting for my approval , applied in March. I'm on Job Seekers Allowance ( receiving all benifits) just want to know that does it effect my application. Any 1 here got their approval who was on job seekers allowance. Plz do share ur experience. Thanx

That should not be a problem since after ILR you are entitled for benefits, no need to worry about this at least.

Guys l received a letter today asking me to fill an additional rereference and my marriage certificate. After all 6 months waiting. The lady from NCS TOLD me she doesn't need to copy a marriage certificate coz home office will still find the information. Why do they help people yet they don't know what home office rely know. Home office needs me to confirm which name l need to use either married name or maid ain name which is on my old passion from my country. I l will send it and then wait again. I don't get it.

Are you a spouse of British citizen? Or of EU citizen?
