Naturalisation and Surinder Singh

Hi All,

A question about the Surinder Singh route.

From reading the forum, I understand that, when it comes to applying for naturalisation as a BC citizen, a non-EU national (married to a UK citizen) does not necessarily need to apply for PR first. This therefore means that the non-EU national may generally apply for naturalisation after 5 years residence in the UK (as opposed to 6 years).

I should be grateful if someone would please refer me to a source/UKBA authority which confirms the same?
