Naturalized British citizen - Need to extend stay in India

Post by IndiMarshall » Tue Aug 11, 2015 8:04 am

Hi All,

Sorry if this post doesn't belong here. Hope I get some solution

I am presently in India.. I am a naturalized British citizen. Traveled to India on 22-04-2015

My Visa type is mentioned as X on the passport.. I am not sure if this is Tourist visa or Entry Visa.

Visa Issued : 27-03-2015
Expiry date : 26-09-2015

Can someone please tell me How do I extend this stay?
Is there a deadline date before I apply for extension ?
Also can I apply for OCI from here ?

My situation is a bit grim, I couldn't travel back due to medical reasons.

I tried calling the given number for Hyd
which is 040-27900214

The auto message says the number has been changed to 1952 and
what do they mean by that.. I tried calling 1952/ 040 27901952

Both the numbers didnt ring. Any idea what do they mean by 1952

The FRRO Hyd. office has recently shifted, to:

Room No.301,
3rd Floor, CGO Towers,
Kabadiguda,
Hyderabad.

Thus the change in contact number perhaps.
If they say it has changed to 1952, it should be: 040-27901952

Hi Sushmehta
The number is not working.

Can I call to any central number if they have any office like call centre to clear my questions.

Also can I apply for extension in my case
Also I am not in a position to travel at the moment.

Try:
040-27541022 or 040-27541088
frrohyd@nic.in

Yes, you can apply for OCI in India but you don't have the time for that. Your current visa will expire before OCI is issued.

Registration and Visa extension for a British citizen needed

Post by IndiMarshall » Wed Aug 19, 2015 5:16 pm

I am presently in India.. I am a naturalized British citizen. Traveled to India on
22-04-2015 Arrived in India on 23-04-2015

I have no OCI, So I applied for a Entry Visa

My Visa type is mentioned as X on the passport which is Entry Visa.

Visa Issued : 27-03-2015
Expiry date : 26-09-2015

I have to get two things sorted .

1)Registration.
2) Extension.

Please let me know if this is the correct link

http://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/menufrro.jsp

Can you guys please confirm if this the link I have to use and check Registration and Extension for the both the forms separately and fill ?

I think there is a bug in the first page. It is asking me to fill the Citizen and when I give UK. it is expecting me to fill a Indian state and place.

Please confirm

Local SP office.
You dont have to travel to the capital city of your state in India

Go to your SP office with filled online forms http://indianfrro.gov.in/frro/menufrro.jsp
Take your passport, Adhar Card or some kind of proof of Identity.

I am going to get it done tomorrow.
Hopefully there will be no hassles. I was to told to expect it in 20 days.

I will know more details tomorrow.
Hope this is helpful. I will follow up.

Please add any information if you know already so that my case will be fool proof when I reach them.

contact details for FRRO office in Hyderabad

Post by IndiMarshall » Wed Aug 19, 2015 5:27 pm

For registration and Visa extension and for many other things you might need to go FRRO office if you are with in Hyd.

Most of the online ph numbers mentioned for Hyd are not working.

I had to call to chennai and find the Hyd one.

FRRO Help Desk 040-27541022
FRRO Hyd 040 27451087

Call to any of the number and ask for Madhusudhan Reddy on any of the numbers. He is the head of that department.

Most others dont know what they are speaking.
They had to swap the ph thrice to reach him.

What did Mr Reddy tell you? Did you ask him?

You need to choose the state and district you are applying from (from within India).

I posted these numbers for you a week back, along with the email address. Guess you did not visit the forum.
