Quick update on my request for passports. Its been more than 14 working days and no news of it. I submitted the on line form for return of documents that haven't been received within 10 working days. I'm really hoping I don''t get a problem letter instead.
Hi ive got the same problem, asked them to return my wifes eea passport. its 11th day ive sent the other request form as well. Bulets see how long it will take to get it back. I'll try to call them.

Hi nora_804, I have been following your post and can only sympathize with you.
With reference to your earlier post, I think previous immigration history may have affected your husband's application. It is on the basis of the information you provided that I ask: What was the outcome of the initial asylum application?
I understand that HO withhold passports when an application is denied/refused. If this was the case, did your husband appeal that decision?
Hi Ayeesha29
It was refusal on asylum application, and my husband did not appeal . I will try to request his passport again, im not sure if they will return his passport because they give him refusal on asylum
Hi nora, I honestly think you should seek professional advice because this case is a bit complicated. I know you have made a decision to appeal but you need to evaluate your basis for appeal. Your husband failed to present a valid passport because the previous one was withheld by HO following a failed asylum application. Am of the view that your husband's failure to appeal 3 years ago might have had an impact on the RC application. Please seek legal advice from your local Citizen Advice Bureau or a reputable immigration firm if you can afford it. I wish you the very best :)
Thank you ayeesha29

We have spoken to several solicitors they said it is strange that they give us refusal. we have to appeal, and we have to work hard to get my husband passport back from Home Office.
Application sent: 14.04.15

My long wait is finally over!!! I got sweaty armpits whilst opening the parcel!! Anyway My RC is finally here!!! I will share my timeline but I don't remember some dates because I binned some of their letters. We met late 2012. We've been living and working in the same place since 2013. We got married November 2014. She's from EU.

First Applied: first week of January 2015 (Just EEA FM)
Refused: 7th of February 2015 due to "lack of funds in my acct" (weird as i have money in my bank acct)
Reapplied: 24th Feb 2015 (I included EEA QP thiught it might help)
COA: 2nd March 2015 with right to work
Passport Requested: July 2015 (took less than 10days)
Interview in Liverpool: 28th of September 2015 lasted less than 1.5hr (1hr for my wife because she told them all the relevant details even though the interviewer wasn't asking and 30mins for me, basically I just confirmed those details she mentioned) My advice is it's very important to review your relationship history, don't forget to smile at the interviewer and try to make the interview as fun as possible like I mentioned some of our funny moments which of course related to the interviewer's questions.
RC received: 9th October 2015 dated 6th of October!!

God is good!

Congrats to the new RC recipients!!

I only just received our passports and documents back and I'm so thrilled about that! I received the package at 3:00 p.m. (TG I was home!) and then I received a call from the HO after 10 minutes! Funny coincidence. It had been dispatched however the person over the phone this morning didn't tell me that. Would've been nice to know.

Any luck Jotoia?

Over the phone, they are just callcentre staff, they are just reading to you what you can read yourself online on HO site. They can not help you with anything or advise anything. Thats what I guessed from talking to them and thats what one of them told me straight. Its waste of time to call them.

You can get your RC exchanged for a BRP .But I think it costs £400 and provides no additional value.

Hi soul did get refusal letter from Home Office? Because if you have received refusal letter and the Notice of the Decision you have 14 days retur the apeal. Did you take any copy of your passport? When you send the appeal you dondt need to send orginal documents, you have ony to send a copy of everything. Or do you mean you will send a new application?

I send my appeal today, I send it with, one copy of Notice of Decision, copy of Reason of the Refusal letter, One copy of my EEA-application, 2 copy of marriage certificate, one copy of islamic marriage, one copy of my EEA passport, copy of picture of me and my husband, copy of screenshoots of commication between me and my husband, copy of my employer statemant and payslips, copy of my husband birth certificate and letter from home office confirming that his passport his held by them, letter from( jobcentre, bankstatemant, GP) which are addresed to me and my husband at the same address. If you dondt have the document ready, you can put a list in the appeal that you will take it at the hearing if you choose hearing. We payed money to solicitor to fill out the appeal to us, and it cost us 150 pound. Its easy to filled out by your self, its waste of money to use solicitor
